As of today, Outstanding in their Field: How Women Corporate Directors Succeed has been acquired by over 168 public and university libraries around the world. The new non-fiction book (Praeger/ABC-Clio: 2009) tells the stories of 15 women serving on top corporate boards at Fortune 1000 firms based in California and describes the 6 paths they followed into the boardroom.

The WorldCat.org catalog reports that Outstanding in their Field is most popular in Texas public and university libraries (16), followed by California and Florida (14 each), Michigan and North Carolina (9), and Illinois (8).

One hundred and fifty (150) libraries and universities in the United States and Hawaii hold copies of Outstanding in their Field. Nine are held in Canadian libraries, four in Australia, three in Singapore, and one each in China (Shanghai) and New Zealand.

The author, Elizabeth Ghaffari, said "I'm very pleased at the support of our librarians on campuses and at community libraries, around the globe. Many of these institutions face major financial challenges and tight budgets today. For them to include this book in their collections recognizes the importance of providing 'lessons from women in leadership' especially in this tougher marketplace. I thank the librarians for their foresight and vision."
